I wish I had heard about this product 4 months ago because then would I not have to spend close to $100 replacing my laptops power cord (I don't have a Mac...duh!!).Anyways the idea of JerkStopper is to prevent non-Mac users from accidentally destroying their computer or its cord if they should accidentally step on the power cord or any such accident.
The JerkStopper is not only for power cords though and can be used with others such as USB, Ethernet and 5J45.
Price is pretty good also at only one Hamilton ($10), which is a small price to pay for preventing a laptop fall or the destroying of an expensive port or cord. One thing we should note, the little bugger requires a USB port to operate properly.

My kit came with a USB, a RJ11 and a RJ45 adapter in the pkg. Works great!!!
I just got mine and wonder why Dell doesn't include one of these with every laptop?
