GOOGLE NETBOOK SPECS LEAKED?

Google we know is building an OS for netbooks. Now word is that the company is also building a netbook. Google has never really been known as a hardware maker, but this rumor is still good to be true. Google, we are told, is also building a cellphone based on its OS Android.

British site IB Times recently disclosed the rumored specs of the upcoming Google netbook:

The netbook is likely to have a 10.1 inch HD ready multi-touch screen display. It will be powered by an ARM-based processor. The storage option will probably be a 64GB solid state drive. Other likely specifications include 2GB of RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, Ethernet, webcam, USB and flash Card reader. No prizes for guessing the OS. It is going to be Google Chrome.

IB Times also reports that the netbook will be subsidized by a wireless carrier and will sell for under $300.

Google’s Chrome OS is meant for running web-only applications, but this device it seems has more power than is necessary to run web-apps alone. Of course these are all rumors and may or may not become true.
