
Starting February 1st, HP will start offering new Smart Buy options for its Mini 5102 mini-laptop. There will be three new options priced at $399, $525 and $649.
The base model priced at $399 will have a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 160GB,7200rpm hard drive and a 4 cell battery. This version will run Windows 7 Starter. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth. The $525 model will have 2GB of RAM and Windows 7/Vista Professional.
The third Smart Buy model priced at $649 has a 6 cell, 66Whr battery, 2GB of RAM, Windows 7 or XP Pro and a Gobi mobile broadband module.
The HP Mini 5102 has a 10 inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels. It is one of the best mini-laptops available at the moment. It sports a durable magnesium alloy case and a fast 7200 rpm hard drive. The laptop is also available with a number of optional features such as touch-screen, handle and HD display.
When HP introduced the laptop a few days ago it promised that the base model would start at $399. However, the lowest possible configuration available at the moment is priced at $599. But that is about to change and in a few days you will be able to take home the laptop at a price you can afford.
