HP MINI 5102 NOW FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE

The HP Mini 5102 is now fully customizable. It is now possible to officially order the laptop with your preferred configuration options through the HP website.

The base model with SUSE Linux, 160GB hard drive and a 1024 x 600 pixel display will cost $518. This configuration costs around $120 more than the lowest Smart Buy Configuration ($399) with Windows 7. A higher-end model may cost as high as $1000.

The HP Mini 5102 offers numerous configuration possibilities. Some of the available options are:

Operating system: Choice of Windows 7 Starter/Win 7 Pro/Win XP Home/SUSE Linux 11/ FreeDOS
Display: 1024 x 600 pixels/1366 x 768 pixels/1024 x 600 pixel touch-screen (Touch-screen with 1366 x 768 pixels is not available.)

Remember that configuring your laptop on your own through the HP website will easily cost more money than purchasing it through one of the Smart Buy options. The Smart Buy configurations, however, doesn’t offer HD display or touch-screen options.

As for the optional handle, it is worth remembering that the handle is non-removable. If you order the laptop with one, it will stay attached all the time.
