The Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t is a 10 inch tablet style netbook with a touchscreen display that can be folded down over the keyboard. Actually very few netbooks are available with a touchscreen display and swivel. And at $549, the IdeaPad S10-3t is cheaper than most convertible tablets around.
The IdeaPad S10-3t is powered by an Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor. The Wall Street Journal has posted a review of the netbook. The paper seems quite impressed with the touchscreen and Lenovo’s touch-friendly software. The glossy screen, however, tends to cause a bit of distraction while watching movies or working in the tablet mode.
The reviewer isn’t all that impressed with the performance. He/she points out that the netbook feels kind of sluggish while launching applications. But it is not clear whether the S10-3t is slower than other Atom netbooks, which probably isn’t so. Incidentally, Lenovo, it seems, plans to release a faster version of this netbook with a Zippier 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 processor. Intel is yet to confirm the existence of this netbook, but an official announcement is expected soon.
