ASUS UL20FT WITH NEXT-GEN ULV PROCESSOR COMING?

Asus reportedly plans to launch an updated version of its 12.1 inch UL20a notebook. Sources claim that the new machine will be called UL20FT and it will have Intel's latest ULV chipset instead of the Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor found on UL20a.

The UL20FT is likely to be powered by a 1.02GHz Intel Celeron U3400 or a 1.2GHz Intel Core i3-330UM processor. These processors don't support Intel's Turbo Boost technology, but with Asus's Turbo33 platform users will still be able to overclock either processor by up to 33%.The notebook is likely to ship with integrated graphics.

Like the UL20a, the UL20FT will also reportedly have a 12.1 inch HD display with 1366 x 768 pixels. It will support up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 500GB of storage. Asus claims that the laptop will get around 8 hours of runtime with the 6-cell battery.

Asus is expected to show off the new notebook at Computex next week. No word on pricing or availability at the moment.
