The LG X140 has been making appearances at trade shows for a while and today LG issued a press release announcing the official launch of the netbook. The netbook will soon be available in Latin America and parts of Asia. There is still no launch dates for the US and Europe.
The LG X140 has a 10.1 inch display with 1366 x 768 pixels. It is available with your choice of a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 or a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 processor. Other specifications include 1 / 2GB of RAM, 250GB / 320GB hard drive, 1.3 megapixel webcam, SRS TruSurround HD audio and integrated 3G modem. The netbook runs Windows 7 Starter Edition.
The LG X140 comes pre-loaded with a quick boot software called Smart on 2.0. It lets you access your email and browser within 5 seconds. The netbook will be available in white, black or hot pink.
