NVIDIA has officially released the GeForce GTX 480M discrete graphics cards for notebooks. The GeForce GTX 480M are part of the company's Fermi platform.
Billed as the fastest notebook GPU, the GeForce GTX 480M is the company's first DirectX 11 capable graphics. It has 352 CUDA cores, a 256-bit memory interface, 850MHz processor speed and 1200MHz memory clock speed. The GPU supports CUDA, two-way SLI, PhysX, PureVideo and 3D Vision technologies. It will also offer a performance of 897 Gigaflops.
It was previously reported that the GTX 480M will be first available in Eurocom's 17-inch Cheetah and Panther notebooks. The upcoming Clevo D900F will also have the GPU. The GTX 480M costs around $380 more than the GTX 280M.
