BLACKBERRY TABLET TO LAUNCH IN NOVEMBER?

Research in Motion (RIM), maker of the celebrated BlackBerry smartphones, is expected to launch its first Blackberry tablet in November. The company recently purchased the blackpad.com and now Bloomberg has confirmed that the tablet will be called Blackpad. Even though the tech fraternity isn't very enthusiastic about that name, RIM, it seems, has decided to go ahead.

According to Bloomberg, the Blackberry tablet or Blackpad will have a 9.7 inch display. It will feature both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and users will be able to access the internet by connecting the Blackpad to a Blackberry over Bluetooth. The tablet will also sport two cameras - one on the front and the other on the back.

The BlackPad will reportedly have the same price point as the iPad which starts at $499. The Blackpad tablet is designed to work with Blackberry phones. It will allow you to access your Blackberry content on a larger screen. But while the iPad can run about 2,50,000 applications, only about 6000 apps are available for Blackberry users at the moment.
