APPLE PREVIEWS MAC OS X LION

Besides launching the new models of the thin and light MacBook Air, Apple gave a preview of the company's upcoming Mac OS X “Lion” operating system last week.
The Mac OS X Lion is inspired by the software running iPad. It is actually the eighth major release of OS for Mac computers and includes support for full screen iPad-like apps. Other features include the Mac Apps Store, Launchpad, a new home for all Mac apps, and Mission Control which provides an innovative new view of everything running on your Mac allowing you to instantly navigate anywhere.

Apple will start shipping the Mac OS X Lion next summer. The Mac App Store will be available for users of the current Mac OS X 'Snow Leopard' within three months.

Apple also introduced a beta version of FaceTime for Mac which allows users to video call iPhone 4 and iPod touch users.
