DELL XPS 15 OVERVIEW

The newly launched Dell XPS 15 is a 15.6 inch notebook aimed at multimedia enthusiasts. It is available with a choice of Intel Core i5 and i7 processors and discrete NVIDIA graphics with Optimus technology. The available processor options include the dual core Core i5-460M or Core i5-560M and quad core Core i7-740QM or Core i7-840QM. Besides the integrated Intel HD graphics, the XPS 15 has the NVIDIA GeForce GT435M or GT420M dedicated video card. Other specifications include up to 8GB of RAM, up to 640GB, 7200 rpm hard drive / up to 256GB SSD, DVD burner / Blu-ray combo drive.

The notebook has an LED backlit display with a full HD 1080p resolution or a lower 720p resolution. The supported networking options include WiFi 802.11n,WiMAX, HSPA and EVDO-HSPA mobile broadband, Bluetooth and Gigabit LAN. There are two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 / eSATA combo port, built-in JBL 2.1 speakers, optionally integrated TV tuner, a 2.0MP webcam, optional GPS, a 9-in-1 media card reader, mini DisplayPort, HDMI 1.4 video outputs and NVIDIA 3DTV Play technology that allows you to connect your notebook to a 3D-enabled TV.

According to the product page, the XPS 15 will get around 5 hours of battery life with the standard 6-cell battery. A 9-cell battery option is also available. The Dell XPS 15 runs Windows 7 operating system. It starts at $849.99.
