Best Buy has already announced its plans to sell a WiFi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Android tablet. Now it looks like the model is nearing its launch in the US. The WiFi-only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab has made its appearance at the FCC website which is a clear indication that it will soon hit the US market. This model will not have a 3G modem. It is aimed at customers who don't want to commit themselves to long-term like service contracts.

The WiFi only Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1010 has got the same basic specifications as the more expensive 3G-enabled version.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Both WiFi and 3G models of the tablet have a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor and run Android 2.2. Besides 3G modem, the WiFi-only model may also lack a GPS receiver but it will be cheaper than the 3G version.
