ASUS ANNOUNCES U36 ULTRAPORTABLE

Asus has announced a new ultraportable notebook called U36. The Asus U36 has a 13.3 inch LED backlit display. It is powered by an Intel Core i5-460M processor and NVIDIA GeForce 310M discrete grahics with 1GB of dedicated video memory. Other specifications include 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB, 7200 rpm hard drive, an HDMI port and one USB 3.0 port.

The Asus U36 runs Windows 7 Home Premium. It supports the NVIDIA Optimus automatic graphics switching technology. The Asus U36 will reportedly weigh just over three pounds and measure 0.75 inches in thickness. It has a magnesium alloy chassis and a 4-cell battery that is expected to get 10 hours of battery life.
