The Eee Pad Transformer is the first 10 inch Android tablet from Asus. It runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system. There is still no word on a US launch date, but the machine is expected to be cheaper in that part of the world.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer has a detachable keyboard. What is interesting about this machine is that the keyboard will dock firmly with the tablet so that you can use the device as a laptop. What's more, the keyboard has its own battery. While the tablet is expected to get around 9.5 hours of battery life, by adding the keyboard you can increase the battery life to 16 hours.
The £379 is the price of the standalone tablet with 16GB of internal storage. The tablet with the optional keyboard is priced at £429, or about $688.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer has a 10.1 inch IPS Gorilla Glass capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor. The supported connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi 802.11n.
The Eee Pad Transformer will start shipping in the UK on April 6th.
