ACER CHROMEBOOK DELAYED AGAIN

It looks like the Acer AC700 ChromeBook release date has been pushed back further. The machine was supported to start shipping on June 15th, but that date has come and gone. And now Amazon, which has been taking pre-orders for the WiFi only version of the laptop for $349.99 says that the machine will start shipping in mid-July. The 3G-model will be available in mid-August for $429.99.

The Acer AC700 Chromebook runs the Google Chrome operating system. It is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N570 dual core processor. The laptop has an 11.6 inch display and an HDMI output port. It also has 2GB of RAM.

The Acer Chromebook weighs 3.2 pounds. The 3G-enabled model comes with 100MB of free Verizon 3G data per month for two years. In case you can’t wait until mid-July to get your hands on a Chromebook, Samsung has started shipping its Chrome OS laptop. But the WiFi only version of the Samsung Chromebook will run you $430.
