CLOSER LOOK AT THE PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK CF-H2 RUGGED TABLET

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-H2 rugged business tablet has started shipping. The device has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 768 sunlight-readable display which accepts both touch and digitizer inputs. It runs Windows 7 Professional operating system.

The Toughbook CF-H2 is powered by an Intel Core i5-2557M vPro ULV processor. Other specifications include 4GB of RAM (supports up to 8GB), a 320GB, 7200 rpm hard drive or 128GB solid state drive.


Billed as the industry's most rugged handheld tablet computer, the Toughbook CF-H2 sports a magnesium alloy chassis. It meets the MIL-STD-810G standards for ruggedness which means that it can withstand minor drops, shocks, vibration, water, dust and extreme weather conditions.

The Toughbook CF-H2 weighs 3.5 pounds. It will reportedly get up to 6.5 hours of run time with the dual hot-swappable batteries. The supported connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.1, Gigabit LAN, WiFi 802.11n and optional Gobi 2000-branded 3G mobile broadband. The Toughbook CF-H2 starts at $3,449. It is available in four versions.
