HP will offer one last batch of the TouchPad tablet before discontinuing the device forever. That last batch will reportedly be made available to HP employees first. The HP TouchPad has been the hottest selling tablet in recent times, thanks to the price drop which now makes it possible to buy one TouchPad for just $99. HP launched the tablet a couple of months ago but it wasn’t selling exactly well. As a result of that HP dropped the price of the tablet from $399 to $99. Since then it has been selling exceptionally well and now none of the retailers have the tablet in stock. The HP TouchPad has impressive hardware, but the OS is a bit problematic. The TouchPad is the first tablet to run the webOS operating system. While webOS is a decent smartphone OS, it feels kind of sluggish on the tablet. What’s more, there aren’t many third party applications for the webOS platform. Nonetheless, for $99, it is nothing short of a steal. Hackers are also working on hard on making the tablet compatible with Android apps.
