WHAT DOES ANDROID 4.0 MEAN TO THE TABLET OWNER?

This is the most recent version of the Google Android operating system. Android was originally a smartphone operating system. That however, didn’t prevent PC makers from using it on their tablets. Tablets, after all, are over-sized smartphones. Some even sport phone capabilities. The growing popularity of Android among tablet makers prompted Google to launch a version of the OS specifically optimized for tablets. That is what led to the creation of Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb.

The latest version Android 4.0 is a blend of both smartphone and tablet versions of the operating system. That means once it becomes available, there will not be different versions for tablets and smartphones.

It sports a whole new user interface with new fonts. Other improvements over previous versions include a better browser and support for NFC.
