CLOSER LOOK AT ASUS B23E BUSINESS NOTEBOOK

Besides a whole new line of low cost notebooks and netbooks, Asus introduced a high-end ultraportable laptop at CES last week. The Asus B23E is a 12.5 inch notebook aimed at businesses. It will be available with a choice of Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and Windows 7 Home, Professional or Ultimate operating system.


The 12.5 inch LED backlit anti-glare display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The laptop has also got up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 750GB of hard drive space. Other specifications include WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 USB/eSATA combo port, Express Card slot, VGA, HDMI, audio jacks and a Smart Card slot. It comes standard with a 48Whr battery.

Because it is aimed at businesses, Asus will pre-load the laptop with several business-friendly features such as LoJack, HDD password protection, a fingerprint reader and BIOS password protection. It sports a magnesium alloy chassis for extra durability and an anti-shock hard drive.

Pricing
The Asus B23E isn’t cheap and that is hardly surprising. Premium features command a premium price tag. A configuration with an Intel Core i7 processor and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system runs between $922 and $999.
