As you may have already guessed, the IdeaPad A1 isn’t a high-end tablet. It has modest hardware including a 1Ghz TI OMAP 3622 single core processor, 512MB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The 7 inch display has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The tablet runs Google Android 2.3 gingerbread operating system. It has also got WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Hackers have already managed to root the tablet and it wouldn’t be long before someone manages to install Android 4.0 on it. However, the old processor and limited amount of RAM might prevent some of the features of the OS from working properly.
Still the Ideapad A1 isn’t a bad deal for under $200. It has got cameras, Bluetooth, GPS and Android Market Place access. None of these features are available with the $199 Kindle Fire tablet.
The current promotion runs through January 25th or till supplies last.
