SAMSUNG SERIES 5 ULTRABOOKS UP FOR ORDER FOR $900 AND UP

The Samsung Series 5 ultrabook is now up for pre-order for the starting price of $900. The laptop has got an Intel Core i5 processor. It also features quick boot and resume technology.

The Series 5 ultrabooks will be available in three models: two of them are already available for pre-order.


Both Amazon and J&R have started taking orders for the 13.3 inch and 14 inch models. Both come standard with 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drives with performance enhancing 16GB of solid state cache and 1366 x 768 pixels matte displays. The 14 incher also comes with a built-in DVD drive.

Other common specifications include WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0 and HDMI output port. They also support the Intel WiDi wireless display technology. The Samsung ultrabooks are a bit thicker and heavier than typical ultrabooks. While the 13.3 inch model weighs 3.2 pounds and measures 0.7 inches in thickness, the 14 incher measures 0.8 inches in thickness and weighs 3.9 pounds.

No word on the availability of the $1100 13.3 inch model which has a 128GB SSD instead of the 500GB hard drive.
